Let's pretend it's Summer!

Do you remember playing "Let's Pretend" as a child? I do.
In the middle of winter here in New York, with sub-zero temperatures and wind chills even lower, it is easy to think the colors and warmth of summer will never come again. Here is a reminder of what it will be like in a few months from now. These pictures are from my front yard from Summer 2009.

  1. Very pretty!Do you start to warm up in March? And how long till all that snow is gone,it must make a big mess when it melts.

  2. It doesn't have to melt to be a mess! March is an "iffy" month. It can be warm or you can have a blizzard! Usually by mid-May, you can put away the heavy coats and snow boots for the summer.

I feel sorry for the people in the Southern United States. They don't have the snow removal equipment and they don't know how to drive in it. This winter is particularly bad for them.

  3. Mid May !!You must spend half the year in coats and boots.I dont even own a coat,or any woollen jumpers, lol.
Shorts and singlets in summer, jeans and shirts in winter.I do have fluffy slippers and a chenille dressing gown, but thats only beacause the mornings can be cold.By lunch time its pleasant.
