I don't know about you, but I am totally fascinated with the world of blogs. There are close to a dozen that I follow on a regular basis and I am always finding others that I really can't live without!
I had my own website for seven years and gave that up recently. My website designer, Jeph Remley, (Jeph's Spot on my blog list here) suggested I start my own blog. "Oh, I could never keep up with something like that", I said to him. "I enjoy reading other people's blogs, but I don't think I could do my own." That was a couple of months ago. My negative thoughts gradually turned to a more positive position and here I am!
There are as many different kinds of blogs as there are people. I've found most of the ones I like by going to the blogs I follow. They have lists of other blogs.
Here's just a sample of what I read:
Jeph's Spot: Jeph is an avid cook, gardener, and now a new dog owner. I found it amusing watching him adjust to life with a new puppy with boundless energy when he was accustomed to only cats in the house.
Farmgirlfare: I've been following this one for several years. She was a white collar marketing expert who gave that all up and bought her own farm. Her blog is full of wonderful stories of her farm animals and the joys and challenges of living on a 200+ acre farm in the middle of no where. Here you will find exceptionally good recipes and heartwarming tales of Cary, her special lamb.
Wild by Nature: This guy is really a talented writer and photographer. I have one of his framed prints in my home.
Mostly Whatnot: This is written by a lady I knew from my real estate days. She makes beautiful, unique jewelry and showcases them on her site. You'll also get a glimpse of the fun things she does in her spare time.
Going Country: A suburban raised girl marries a farm boy! You will love this one! Recently she wrote of her collie giving birth before her due date and the panic that created!
All of these can be accessed by clicking on the links in my blog list here. And please share with me any any blogs that you like.

Reading (and writing) blogs is a slippery slope--before you know it, you have a list of a couple dozen that you MUST CHECK EVERY DAY. I'm not a soap opera watcher, but I imagine it's a similar kind of obsession.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the wonderful, weird world of blogging.
Hey - thanks for the shout out! And I have to say I'm REALLY glad you decided to give this a try! NOT because I think you need to get hooked on the addiction, but because you obviously enjoyed sharing parts of your life, your recipes, your photos, etc and I couldn't see you just shutting that down. Really, I wasn't worried about bringing in a little money from doing the work for you - I'M the one who was saying you should go for all these free services. And look how much fun you're having!! Glad you joined up!
