A new owl house

I just received this new owl house from Evensens Productions.  It is handmade cedar and turns out is much bigger than I expected.  I've been reading up on how to attract owls and the type of "accommodations" they prefer!  They don't build nests.  Instead you add wood shavings to the bottom.  The top opens up for cleaning but has two screws in it to prevent a strong wind from blowing it open.  I may wait until early next Spring to put it up.  That's when owls begin nesting and in the meantime, I don't want squirrels to take over the box!
