Hamburger Pie

 

This is an old favorite of mine, going back 50 years!


2 crust pie pastry

Filling:

        2 lb. ground beef              ¼ cup ketchup

        1 onion, chopped              splash of Tabasco Sauce

        1 tblsp dry mustard          ¼ teaspoon chili powder

        ¾ cup chili sauce             salt

Brown meat and onion.  Add remaining ingredients.  Place in a pie shell.  Roll remaining dough to make top crust.  Bake at 350 for 25 minutes, or till crust is brown.

Sauce:

        3 tablespoons butter         1 tablespoon Worcestershire

        3 tablespoons flour           2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

        1 ½ cup milk

Blend melted butter and flour.  Gradually stir in remaining ingredients.  Serve over the meat pie.
